For my introductory example I have chosen the theme park known as Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, UAE. http://www.ferrariworldabudhabi.com/ Everything about this is amazing.
Theme Park. Ferraris. Abu Dhabi. Why on earth does such a park exist? Perhaps, much like Disney, although they could make plenty of money doing what they do best (making luxury cars, making animated films, etc.), they figured they could make so much more money with a theme park. And have rides and toys and clothes and all that jazz. Which kind of makes sense...except for the fact that Disney is a large corporation aimed at children...and Ferrari is a car company aimed at extremely wealthy middle-aged men with mid-life crises. Am I missing something?

Yes, perhaps I am missing something. Middle-aged wealthy men can have all the Ferraris they want. Maybe some other people should get a crack at the experience of driving a Ferrari. Children, for example, can take a thrilling ride through the Italian countryside in mini-Ferraris on tracks. Or, and I quote, you can: "Strap yourself into the F1™ cockpit and hold onto your soul as you blast away on the fastest roller coaster on the planet. " HOLD. ONTO. YOUR. SOUL.
Ferrari World has so much to offer. Food. Drink. History Museum. What I assume are extremely tasteful Ferrari-themed gifts.

But on the other hand...ABU DHABI. If anything makes me ask..."What is your life?!" it is Abu Dhabi. Are there even enough inordinately wealthy people to attend Ferrari World on a yearly basis to keep it in business? What if they get tired of holding onto their souls? What if they've tried the six Italian-themed restaurants too many times? What if they get tired of watching the movie on the history of the Ferrari in the Cinema Maranello? Surely there cannot be enough rich people to support such a place. Especially as the admission price is only AED 225(around 60 USD). Only AED 495 for the Premium Admission (135 USD). An annual pass is AED 1195 (around 325 USB) Disneyland costs more than that guys! And Disneyland doesn't have a recreation of the Italian countryside!
Ferrari World is so deeply ridiculous. A monument to the most extreme excesses we could possibly imagine. I think of all the reasons why this is a ridiculous and terrible idea and yet as I scroll through the pictures of sheiks in tiny red mini-ferraris enjoying the Italian countryside with their children or buying tasteful ferrari-themed gifts at the gift shop with their wives...all I can think is how much I really, really want to go to Ferrari World. What is my life?!
